1 House Resolution
2 A resolution calling for an immediate de-escalation
3 and cease-fire in the State of Israel and occupied
4 Palestine, supporting the protection of the
5 constitutional rights of Floridians, and advocating
6 for the dignity and safety of residents in every
7 community.

9 WHEREAS, all human life is precious, and the targeting of
10 civilians, no matter their religion or ethnicity, is a violation
11 of international humanitarian law, and
12 WHEREAS, over 9,000 Palestinians have been killed as well
13 as 1,400 Israelis, it is more than clear that an immediate
14 ceasefire is needed, and
15 WHEREAS, millions of lives are at imminent risk if a cease -
16 fire is not achieved and humanitarian aid is not delivered
17 without delay, and
18 WHEREAS, Florida's elected leadership has a responsibility
19 to all state residents to champion diplomacy, peace, and safety
20 for all, NOW, THEREFORE,

26 (1) Urges the Biden administration to immediately call for
27 and facilitate de-escalation and a cease-fire to promptly end
28 the current violence in the State of Israel and occupied
29 Palestine, and to promptly send and facilitate the entry of
30 humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
31 (2) Opposes criminalizing Floridians' rights to speak out
32 against and protest human rights violations against any group of
33 people and supports the protection of constitutional rights of
34 Floridians by declaring its intention to repeal such
35 legislation.
36 (3) Advocates for the dignity and safety of residents in
37 every community and vows to combat racism, anti-Semitism,
38 Islamophobia, and ethnonationalism in all forms.
