2 A resolution expressing support for the State of
3 Israel.

5 WHEREAS, the State of Florida recognizes the right of the
6 State of Israel to exist as a sovereign and independent nation,
7 with the full rights and privileges afforded to all nations
8 under international law, and
9 WHEREAS, the State of Florida has had a longstanding
10 alliance with the State of Israel, which is founded on shared
11 democratic principles and common interests, and
12 WHEREAS, beginning on October 7, 2023, Hamas, a United
13 States-designated terrorist organization whose charter calls for
14 the destruction of the State of Israel, launched an attack on
15 the State of Israel which has resulted in more than 900 Israelis
16 being murdered and more than 4,000 rockets being launched into
17 the State of Israel, and
18 WHEREAS, the State of Florida stands firmly in solidarity
19 with the State of Israel in its efforts to safeguard its
20 citizens, protect its borders, and ensure the safety and
21 security of its people, NOW, THEREFORE,

23 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
24 Florida:

26 That the Florida House of Representatives reaffirms its
27 unwavering commitment to the partnership it shares with the
28 State of Israel.
29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of
30 Representatives stands in solidarity with the State of Israel
31 and condemns this unprovoked attack by Hamas against Israel and
32 its citizens and supports Israel's right to defend itself and
33 protect its citizens from indiscriminate violence and terrorism.
34 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of
35 Representatives unequivocally supports the right of the State of
36 Israel to exist as a sovereign and independent nation, with the
37 full recognition of its borders and territory.
38 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
39 presented to the Governor of the State of Florida, the members
40 of the Florida Congressional delegation, and the Ambassador of
41 the State of Israel to the United States as a testament to the
42 enduring partnership between our states and the unwavering
43 support of the State of Florida for the State of Israel.
