Mayor Muriel Bowser has submitted a request to the Council of the District of Columbia to reprogram $3,607,042 of Fiscal Year 2026 Local Funds within the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). This reprogramming is necessary to realign funds allocated for snow response costs to the appropriate budget lines following expenditures incurred during the FY 2026 snow emergency event. The funds will be transferred from DDOT's Maintenance Operations Administration and Traffic Safety Administration divisions to the Traffic Safety division, specifically for overtime pay and supplies related to snow removal activities.

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) has reviewed the Mayor's request and confirmed that the reprogramming will not adversely impact DDOT's budget or the District's financial plan. The OCFO has no objections to the reprogramming, which is aligned with the purpose for which the agency received supplemental funding. The request is expected to facilitate the necessary financial adjustments without causing delays or negative impacts on other programs or services within the agency.
