Mayor Muriel Bowser has nominated Dr. Stephanie Johnican for appointment to the Board of Pharmacy in the District of Columbia. Dr. Johnican, a licensed pharmacist residing in Ward 6, is proposed to fill a vacant seat previously held by Alan Friedman. Her appointment will cover the remainder of an unexpired term ending on March 12, 2026, and she will also serve a subsequent term that concludes on March 12, 2029. The nomination is in accordance with the Confirmation Act of 1978 and the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revision Act of 1985.

The Council of the District of Columbia is set to confirm Dr. Johnican's appointment through a proposed resolution, which will take effect immediately upon adoption. Dr. Johnican has extensive experience in the field, currently serving as a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and has held various pharmacy licenses across multiple states. The resolution will be transmitted to both the nominee and the Office of the Mayor following its adoption.
