The Arena Safety Conformity Emergency Amendment Act of 2026 aims to enhance public safety by amending the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium and the District of Columbia National Guard Armory Public Safety Act of 1977. This bill specifically includes the Downtown Arena and the Southeast Arena in the existing prohibition against unauthorized entry onto playing surfaces. New definitions for both arenas are introduced, with the Downtown Arena located at 601 F St. N.W. and the Southeast Arena at 1100 Oak Dr. S.E.
Additionally, the bill establishes that no person may enter the playing surfaces of these arenas without express authorization from the respective operators or their agents. The definition of "playing field or playing surface" is also expanded to encompass the areas within the Downtown Arena and Southeast Arena, alongside existing venues like the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium and others. This legislation is set to take effect upon approval by the Mayor and will remain in effect for a maximum of 90 days.
