Mayor Muriel Bowser has submitted a request to the Council of the District of Columbia to reprogram $162,491.13 in Fiscal Year 2025 Local Funds within the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). This reprogramming is necessary to cover various expenses, including agency judgments, indemnities, supplies, and travel. The request is in accordance with the Reprogramming Policy Act of 1980 and aims to ensure that DPR can effectively manage its logistics for Recreation Services and Programming. The funds will be reallocated from several account groups to meet the agency's programmatic requirements.

The Chief Financial Officer, Glen Lee, has reviewed the Mayor's request and confirmed that the reprogramming does not exceed the $500,000 threshold requiring Council approval, although it will result in a cumulative budget change for DPR exceeding that amount due to a previously approved reprogramming. The Office of Budget and Planning has indicated that this reprogramming will not adversely impact DPR's budget or the District's financial plan, and the CFO has no objections to the request. The reprogramming is essential for the agency to continue its operations without delays in services or programs.
