The Language Access Rulemaking Temporary Amendment Act of 2025 amends the Language Access Act of 2004 to empower the Office of Human Rights to adopt rules and regulations for implementing the act's provisions. Specifically, it adds a new subsection (c) to Section 6 of the Language Access Act, which mandates that the Mayor issue rules in accordance with the District of Columbia Administrative Procedure Act to facilitate the act's implementation.
This legislation is applicable retroactively from June 19, 2004, and will take effect upon approval by the Mayor, or following a Council override of a potential veto, after a 30-day congressional review period. The act is temporary and will expire 225 days after it takes effect.
