Mayor Muriel Bowser has submitted a request to the Council of the District of Columbia to reprogram $12,000 from the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) to the Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure (CJDT) for the fiscal year 2025. This reprogramming is necessary to address budget adjustments resulting from the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extension Act of 2025, which negatively impacted the approved operating budget for CJDT. The funds will be utilized to support critical IT and agency needs for CJDT, ensuring that the agency can continue its operations without interruption.

The Chief Financial Officer, Glen Lee, has reviewed the Mayor's request and confirmed that the reprogramming will not adversely affect ONSE's budget or the District's financial plan. The funds are available due to savings from renegotiated relocation services for victims of violent crimes. Although this reprogramming is below the $500,000 threshold requiring Council approval, it is noted that a previous reprogramming from ONSE has already been approved, resulting in a cumulative change exceeding that threshold. The OCFO has no objections to this request, indicating that it is a necessary adjustment to maintain the functionality of the CJDT.
