The African American Civil War Museum Limited Grant-Making Authority Temporary Amendment Act of 2025 amends the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Limited Grant-Making Authority Act of 2012. This bill specifically authorizes the Deputy Mayor to issue a grant in Fiscal Year 2025 or 2026 to the African American Civil War Memorial Freedom Foundation, Inc. for the redevelopment of the African American Civil War Museum, located at 1925 Vermont Avenue, NW. The amendment includes a new subsection (kk) to Section 2032, which allows this grant to be made notwithstanding the existing Grant Administration Act of 2013.

The act will take effect upon approval by the Mayor and a subsequent 30-day congressional review period, and it is set to expire 225 days after its enactment. The Council has adopted the fiscal impact statement from the Budget Director as part of the legislative process.
