The Council of the District of Columbia has passed a ceremonial resolution to honor Dr. Pertte Arrington, the Head Coach of the Jackson-Reed High School Volleyball Team, for her remarkable achievement of 500 career coaching victories and her significant contributions to student-athletes and the community. Dr. Arrington has demonstrated exceptional leadership and mentorship, leading the Jackson-Reed Tigers to 23 DCIAA Championships, a DCSAA State Volleyball Championship in 2021, and multiple runner-up titles. Her coaching excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2021 DCIAA Coach of the Year and the Washington Post All-Met Co-Coach of the Year.

In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Dr. Arrington is a clinical psychologist with the Department of Behavioral Health, where she serves as a role model and advocate for youth in the District. The resolution acknowledges her dedication to empowering student-athletes, helping them excel both on the court and in their personal development. The Council expresses its deepest appreciation for Dr. Arrington's lasting impact on high school athletics and her commitment to fostering values such as education, discipline, and leadership among young people. The resolution takes effect immediately.
