The resolution honors Dr. Pertte Arrington, the Head Coach of the Jackson-Reed High School Volleyball Team, for her remarkable achievement of 500 career coaching victories and her significant contributions to student-athletes and the community. Dr. Arrington has demonstrated exceptional leadership and mentorship, leading her team to numerous championships, including 23 DCIAA Championships and a DCSAA State Volleyball Championship in 2021. Her accolades include being named the 2021 DCIAA Coach of the Year and the Washington Post All-Met Co-Coach of the Year, reflecting her ability to foster talent and a culture of teamwork.

In addition to her coaching success, Dr. Arrington is a clinical psychologist with the Department of Behavioral Health, where she serves as a role model and advocate for youth in the District. The resolution expresses the Council's deep appreciation for her dedication to empowering student-athletes and emphasizes the positive impact she has made both on and off the court. The resolution will take effect immediately upon publication in the District of Columbia Register.
