The resolution honors Dr. Pertte Arrington, the Head Coach of the Jackson-Reed High School Volleyball Team, for her remarkable achievement of 500 career coaching victories and her significant contributions to both student-athletes and the community. Dr. Arrington has demonstrated exceptional leadership and mentorship, leading her team to 23 DCIAA Championships, a DCSAA State Volleyball Championship in 2021, and earning multiple accolades, including the 2021 DCIAA Coach of the Year. Her coaching has not only resulted in athletic success but has also fostered a culture of teamwork and perseverance among her players, many of whom have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Dr. Arrington is a clinical psychologist with the Department of Behavioral Health, where she serves as a role model and advocate for youth in the District of Columbia. The resolution expresses the Council's deep appreciation for her dedication to empowering student-athletes and emphasizes the positive impact she has made in promoting education, discipline, and leadership. The resolution will take effect immediately upon its passage.
