Mayor Muriel Bowser has requested the reprogramming of $750,000 in FY 2025 Capital Funds from the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) to facilitate improvements at the Roosevelt High School Pool. This request, which is in compliance with the D.C. Official Code, includes a justification for the need for these funds and is being managed by the Department of General Services. The funds will be sourced from the unspent budget of the Swimming Pool Replacement project and redirected to the Major Repairs/Maintenance project for DCPS.
The Chief Financial Officer, Glen Lee, has reviewed the request and confirmed that the reallocation will not negatively impact the budgets of either DPR or DCPS, nor will it affect the District's overall financial plan. The Office of Budget and Planning has also analyzed the request and found it to be financially sound. This resolution reflects a collaborative effort among various officials, including the Mayor and the City Administrator, to effectively manage the District's financial resources while addressing the needs of DCPS.
