Mayor Muriel Bowser has requested the reprogramming of $750,000 in FY 2025 Capital Funds from the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) to facilitate improvements at the Roosevelt High School Pool. The Department of General Services (DGS) will oversee the implementation of this project. The funds are available for reallocation as they remain unspent from the DPR's Swimming Pool Replacement project.
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) has reviewed the request and confirmed that the reprogramming will not negatively impact the budgets of either DPR or DCPS, nor will it affect the District's overall financial plan. The resolution, addressed to Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, includes notifications to relevant stakeholders, emphasizing a collaborative approach to ensure effective management of the fund reallocation without disrupting existing financial commitments within the District's agencies.
