The Office of Independent Juvenile Justice Facilities Oversight Plan Emergency Amendment Act of 2025 aims to eliminate the requirement for the Office of Independent Juvenile Justice Facilities Oversight to present a plan to the Council regarding the continuation of its functions. Specifically, the bill repeals Section 5012(b)(4) of the Juvenile Justice Facilities Oversight Act of 2024, which mandated this plan presentation.

This emergency legislation will take effect upon approval by the Mayor or, if vetoed, following the Council's action to override the veto. The act is designed to remain in effect for a maximum of 90 days, in accordance with the provisions for emergency acts outlined in the District of Columbia Home Rule Act.
