The resolution, titled the Working Conditions and Compensation Agreement between the District of Columbia Public Schools and the Washington Teachers Union, Local #6 of the American Federation of Teachers Emergency Approval Resolution of 2025, was approved by the Council of the District of Columbia on January 7, 2024. It grants emergency approval for a collective bargaining agreement concerning the working conditions and compensation for employees of the District of Columbia Public Schools who are represented by the Washington Teachers Union. The agreement was submitted by the Mayor and transmitted to the Council on December 6, 2024.

The resolution also includes provisions for the transmittal of the resolution to the Mayor and the Washington Teachers Union upon adoption, as well as a fiscal impact statement from the Chief Financial Officer. It is noted that the resolution will take effect immediately upon its approval.
