15 To recognize, honor, and congratulate the Brookland Middle School for winning the 2024-25
16 District of Columbia State Interscholastic Athletic Association (DCIAA) Middle Football
17 Championships.

19 WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School, located in Ward 5 on Michigan Ave, NE, is
20 dedicated to preparing students to become lifelong learners and leaders who demonstrate curiosity
21 and express themselves creatively;

23 WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach,
24 Osiris Walcott, along with Principal Kerry Richardson Jr., have been successful in leading the
25 team to a DCIAA championship;

27 WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School football team dedicated countless hours of practice
28 throughout the season to achieve this goal;

30 WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School’s 2024 football championship team was led by its
31 dedicated coaching staff, including Head Coach Osiris Walcott, Assistant Coach Andre Jones, and
32 Abdul Kuyateh;

34 WHEREAS, Brookland Middle School’s Boys' 2024 competition record stands at 9 wins

68 resolution may be cited as the “Brookland Middle School 2024 District of Columbia State
69 Interscholastic Athletic Association, (DCIAA) Championship Recognition Resolution of 2024.”

71 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and honors Brookland Middle
72 School Football Team for winning the DCIAA Football Championship.
