18 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
19 resolution may be cited as the "Statewide Health Coordinating Council Dr. Denise St. Jean
20 Confirmation Resolution of 2024".
21 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

29 provider or facility member of the Statewide Health Coordinating Council, established by section
30 4 of the Health Services Planning Program Re-Establishment Act of 1996, effective April 9,
31 1997 (D.C. Law 11-191; D.C. Official Code§ 44-403), replacing Dr. Karl Von Batten, for the
32 remainder of an unexpired term to end February 11, 2027.
33 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
34 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
35 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Dr. Denise St. Jean
Dr. Denise St. Jean is an epidemiologist by training and consultant at
the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she works in the Heath
Care and Social Impact practice areas. She has worked across a variety
of projects including advising a large federal agency through an
Electronic Health Record EHR implementation, designing a new R&D
process for a top biopharmaceutical company, and supporting an
organizational restructuring for a large biotech company.
Dr. St. Jean is also a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy
Research Fellow. Her research background is extensive, with expertise
in vaccine-preventable diseases, population health, and clinical trial
design & management. During her graduate studies she worked with major global healthcare
organizations and projects, including the UNC Health System, FHI Clinical, and MEASURE
Evaluation. Prior to earning her PhD, she worked for a boutique life sciences consulting firm called
Beghou Consulting, where she provided pharmaceutical clients from around the world with
business intelligence, market research, and commercial operations support.
A Ward 6 resident, Dr. St. Jean earned her Bachelor of Science in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology
from Yale University and her Doctor of Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill.
