18 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
19 resolution may be cited as the "Board of Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape
20 Architecture Maurice Walters Confirmation Resolution of 2024".

Maurice Walters
Mr. Maurice Walters is the President of Maurice Walters Architect,
Incorporated, a firm specializing in urban design and the design of
residential and mixed-use projects.
Mr. Walters has over 35 years of experience in residential projects. He
has worked on numerous District projects including the renovation of
Slayton House, the Edgewood Arts Building, and the Baldwin. Prior
to founding his firm, Mr. Walters served as the Torti Gallas and
Partners Principal Designer and Principal in Charge for many local and
nationally recognized residential and mixed-used projects.
Mr. Walters is a licensed architect who possesses National Council of Architectural Registration
Board and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional certifications.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has led several speaking
engagements on urban projects and mid-rise and high-rise housing. In addition, Mr. Walters
achieved the 2021 AIA Maryland Excellence in Design, Jury Citation, Residential Architecture,
Multi-Family A2 Apartments award.
A Ward 6 resident, Mr. Walters earned his Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of
Technology and his Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland-College Park.
