19 RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
20 resolution may be cited as the “Commission on Health Equity Austin Hicks Chikwendu
21 Appointment Resolution of 2024”.

31 2016, effective October 8, 2016 (D.C. Law 21-160; D.C. Official Code § 7-756.01(c)(1)(B)),
32 replacing Dr. Jermane Bond, to serve at the pleasure of the Council.
33 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
34 upon its adoption, to the appointee, the chairperson of the Commission, and to the Officeofthe
35 Mayor.
36 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Responsible for ensuring both the ability of Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) and its partner network to meet
hunger needs today across user/customer segments and identifying and implementing partnerships with new,
nontraditional food actors across sectors to facilitate the movementofusers towards greater financial and food
security. Informs the philosophy and sets the strategy for the partnership and program teams, as well as pilot
projects operating across the service area. Engage with various levels of government across jurisdictions to
influence policyand budget allocations in line with evidence being gamered from the work of CAFB. Represent
CAEB on local councils, champions the case for change with intemal and external stakeholders, and ensures
funding for all partnership programs & government nutrition programs. Developmentof long-term regional
strategy for District ofColumbia, Maryland, and Norther Virginia that increases the alignmentofthe services
offered by the CAFB network with the needs of the community, using client data and partner voices as a guide.
Senior Director, DC: Capital Area Food Bank April 2019- July 2023
Ensured both the abilityof the Food Bank and its partner network to meet hunger needs across customer segments
by identifying and implementing partnerships with new, nontraditional food actors including government,
corporations, investors, community-based organizations focused on financial literacy, skill building, health, and

of 5 (indirectly14) that manages relationships with over 200 DC non-profit organizations and distributes over 9
million meals annually. Thought partner in advocacy priorities of all 8 wards of the District to influence policy

changes in strategy and tactics to achieve goals; Managed activity-based budgets, analyzing variances, and
reforecasting; Managed federal and local grants, including the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP),

Responsible for all marketing, creating programs, and member engagement & follow-up. Marketing includes
creating and mapping social media content and engagement, attending community events, hosting demonstrations,
email marketing, and planning promotions amongst other activities. Programming consists of developing 45
minute sculpt standing and mat classes utilizing 3-5lb hand weights and 3lb ankle weights. Each 45-minute
session consists of a warm-up, 2 upper body segments, 2 lower body segments, 1 full body segment, and core.
Infit360 also hosts quarterly free classes for underserved groups including youth, young mothers, returning
citizens, and seniors. The overall mission of Infit360 is to create an “Inclusive Fitness” environment for all and to
foster access to fitness and wellness for those without the resources to do so.
