19 RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
20 resolution may be cited as the “Commission on Health Equity Nakeisha Neal Jones Appointment
21 Resolution of 2024”.

23 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia appoints:

29 as a voting member of the Commission on Health Equity, established by section 5043 of the
30 Commission on Health Equity Amendment Act of 2016, effective October 8, 2016 (D.C. Law
31 21-160; D.C. Official Code § 7-756.01), replacing Alicia Wilson, to serve a 3-year term to end
32 July 7, 2027.
33 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copyofthis resolution,
34 upon its adoption, to the appointee, the chairperson of the Commission, and to the Office of the
35 Mayor.
36 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Relaunched Public Allies DC after six-year pause, resulting in paid 10-month AmeriCorps
apprenticeships for hundreds of BIPOC young adults and increased capacity for scores of
local nonprofits. 90% young adults connected to higher education and/or employment.
Set local strategic direction, led staff, managed operations, raised annual budget of
approximately $1m and ensured compliance with federal government guidelines.
Doubled number of youth served each year; expanded team to increase staff capacity and
retention. Engaged alumni from every class to support each other and the site.
Cultivated equity-centered partnerships with board, alumni, funders, nonprofits, and three
national workforce readiness and college access partners.
Facilitated first ever national team/individual site meetings to identify successes and
challenges. Revised site support framework and defined roles for new regional directors.
Supported all 20+ sites with connecting 90% of Allies to career pathways within 90 days,
resulting in goal achievement and strategies to improve results for specific populations.

Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development, Washington, DC
Managed resident engagement contracts and worked with planners to ensure that
resident voices were reflected in three neighborhood redevelopment plans.
Developed programs; created budgets; awarded $1-4m in grants each year; and
onboarded new staff and contractors.
Expanded youth development, adult education, health and case management services
for 1000 residents in four public housing communities.
Implemented coaching case management approach that centered the best outcome for
each family as a goal, versus not engaging with child welfare or justice systems as a goal.
Built relationships with developers, city agencies, city council, and community
stakeholders in each neighborhood to strengthen programs.
Assisted with developer selection, negotiating land disposition agreements, and financial
