142; D.C. Official Code § 1-523.01), and pursuant to D.C. Official Code § 47-2853.06(h) and Mayor’s

17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Real Estate Commission Frank Pietranton Confirmation
19 Resolution of 2024".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

27 as a real estate broker licensed in the District member of the Real Estate Commission,
28 established by D.C. Official Code§ 47-2853.06(h) and Mayor's Order 2009-11 , dated February
29 2, 2009, for a term to end December 13, 2026.
30 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
31 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
32 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
Frank A. Pietranton, Jr. DPA, CRB, ABR, has served as Chief Executive Officer of Pier
Associates, Inc., a DC based real estate brokerage and property management company he
founded in 1978. Holding active Broker's licenses in DC and Maryland, Frank has been
instrumental over the past 36 years in meeting the real estate and property management
needs of numerous buyers, sellers, investors, and common Interest community association
boards. From 2000 to 2020, Frank had also served as CEO of ProCAM, LLC, a Virginia
based professional management company specializing In Common Interest Community
Associations throughout the region. Having followed a path of professional academic
development, Mr. Pietranton has earned multiple degrees in the fields of Business and
Economics; Public Administration (for community and non-profits); and Organizational
Development, with an emphasis In Association Governance and Strategic Planning. Frank
has also earned professional designations as a Certified Residential Broker (CRB),
Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), and Real Estate Cyberspace Specialist (RECS).
He is also an NAR Certified Mediator.
Throughout his real estate career, Frank has actively served the real estate community
through continuous participation in local, state, and National Associations of Realtors. At
the local level he has served as chair of the MLS Committee, the Sales Council, the
Regionalization Task Force, and the MRIS Technology Committee. Elected numerous
times as Director of the Washington DC Association of Realtors, Frank also served as its
Treasurer and President. In 2022, Frank was awarded the Advocacy Lifetime
Achievement Award by the DC Association of Realtors for his 40 plus years of real
estate advocacy and education on behalf of members of the DC real estate community.
At the State level Frank has recently been serving as a Director of the District of Columbia
Association of Realtors for the past five years heading up its governance realignment
project and serving as the Board's Treasurer. In 2010 Frank was selected as the DC
Realtor of the Year.
At the National level Frank served 9 years on the NAR Board of Directors, 3 years on the
MLS Committee, was a founding member of the Property Management Forum, and has
served on a number of Presidential Advisory Groups concerned with enhancing
Organization Standards, enforcing the Code of Ethics, and strengthening Realtor
professional training. Currently, Frank is serving as Vice-Chair of the NAR Membership Policy
and Board Jurisdiction Committee.
Over the years Frank has participated In numerous local, State and National efforts to
facilitate the participation of Realtors In all aspects of the community, including the DC
Housing Alliance, the WDCAR Legislative Action Network, as well as other legislative/
advocacy groups in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia which work toward protecting
the rights of all members of the public whom we serve, increasing housing education for
all, and continuing the press for higher professional standards for Brokers, agents, and
Property Managers.

Frank A. Pietranton
Mr. Frank Pietranton is the CEO of Pier Associates, Inc. and the
Director of Community Managers for Pier Associates/ProCAM DC, and
is the current Vice-Chair of the DC Real Estate Commission.
Mr. Pietranton has over 40 years of experience in real estate, with
multiple professional designations. He is a Certified Residential Broker
(CRB), an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), as well as a
Certified Mediator for National Association of Realtors. Previously, Mr.
Pietranton served as a writer and student advisor for the Institute of
Government at the University of Virginia. Upon leaving the University
of Virginia, he moved to Washington, D.C. to serve as AA to U.S.
Senator Robert C. Byrd and to continue his studies in government and non-profit associations. He
obtained his Sales Agent license in 1976 and his Broker’s license in 1978 in Washington D.C.,
followed shortly thereafter with broker’s licenses in Maryland and Virginia.
Mr. Pietranton has served on a number of Community Boards and local education organizations
including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington, DC, the facilities management team at Holy
Trinity Georgetown, the Development Committee at Visitation, two terms as Treasurer of the Mt.
Vernon Swim Team, and over ten years of managing his two daughters’ D.C. youth soccer teams.
In 2011, he was chosen as the National Association of Realtors’ DC Realtor of the Year.
Regionally, Mr. Pietranton maintains committee assignments on local, regional, and state real
estate organizations, and is a past President of the Washington, DC Association of Realtors. More
recently, he was elected to serve three consecutive two-terms as Treasurer for the District of
Columbia (State level) Association of Realtors. Mr. Pietranton is also a past member of the
Property Management Association, the DC Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, and
was a frequent speaker and participant in the Association of the District of Columbia
Condominium Boards.
A Ward 3 resident, Mr. Pietranton earned his a Bachelor of Science in economics and Master of
Public Administration from West Virginia University, and his Doctor of Public Administration in
organizational development from Northfield University.
