A RESOLUTION

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

To declare the existence of an emergency with respect to the need to approve Contract No.
DCRL-2019-C-0084 with the Hospital for Sick Children Pediatric Center and
Modification Nos. 12, 13, 14, and 15 to Contract No. DCRL-2019-C-0084, and to
authorize payment for the services received and to be received under the contract.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Contract No. DCRL-2019-C-0084 with the Hospital for Sick
Children Pediatric Center Approval and Payment Authorization Emergency Declaration
Resolution of 2024”.
Sec. 2. (a) There exists a need to approve Contract No. DCRL-2019-C-0084 and
Modification Nos. 12, 13, 14, and 15 and to authorize payment for the services received and to
be received under the contract.
(b) By Modification No. 12, the Child and Family Services Agency exercised option year
4 of Contract No. DCRL-2019-C-0084 in the not-to-exceed amount of $288,550.80 for the
period August 20, 2023, through August 19, 2024.
(c) Modification No. 13 was an administrative modification.
(d) Modification No. 14 increased the not-to-exceed amount to $947,408.46.
(e) Modification No. 15 increased the not-to-exceed amount to $1,627,007.23.
(f) Council approval is necessary because the modifications increased the value of the
contract to more than $1 million during a 12-month period.
(g) Approval is necessary to allow the continuation of these vital services. Without this
approval, the Hospital for Sick Children Pediatric Center cannot be paid for services provided in
excess of $1 million for the period August 20, 2023 to August 19, 2024.
Sec. 3. The Council determines that the circumstances enumerated in section 2 constitute
emergency circumstances making it necessary that the Contract No. DCRL-2019-C-0084 with

the Hospital for Sick Children Pediatric Center Approval and Payment Authorization Emergency
Act of 2024 be adopted after a single reading.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
