18 To symbolically designate 2465 Alabama Avenue, S.E., between Gainesville Street, S.E. and
19 Hartford Street, S.E., as Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Designation Act 2024.
20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
21
22 act may be cited as the “Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Street Designation Act of 2024”
23
24 Sec. 2. Pursuant to sections 401, 403, and 421 of the Street and Alley Closing and
25
26 Acquisition Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official
27
28 Code §§ 9-204.01, 9-204.03, and 9-204.21), the Council designates the public alley system
29
30 within Square 5730, bounded by Gainesville Street, S.E. and Hartford Street, S.E., as depicted by
31
32 the plat in the committee report, as “Reverend Dr. Judy Talbert Street Designation Act of 2024”.

34 Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.

36 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal
37
38 impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975,
39
40 approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

42 Sec. 4. Effective date

43 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the
44
45 Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional review as
46
47 provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December
48
49 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of
50
51 Columbia Register.
