and Commission on Re-Entry and Ex-Offender Affairs Establishment Act of 2006, effective March 8,
2007 (D.C. Law 16-243; D.C. Official Code § 24-1303), I am pleased to nominate the following

18 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
19 resolution may be cited as the "Commission on Re-Entry and Returning Citizen Affairs Maurice
20 Tyree Confirmation Resolution of 2024".
21 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

Ihave a solemn passion to invest in the holistic lifestyle for andof the Black American community, particularly the
culture of Black menofall ideological frameworks. | have created a basis to begin this work through Manhood 360, LLC,
a company | started while incarcerated. It is simply about hu(man) wellness; positive mental, spiritual, emotional, and
physical alignment and health. | am in development talks with More Than Our Crimes and in the process of applying for
501c3 status.
1am working with another writer on my memoir in the form of letters written during my incarceration. Our book is
under contract with Lived Places Publishing.

Maurice Tyree
Mr. Maurice Tyree currently works for ABM Industrial at George
Washington University and is a Cohort 23 Scholar with the Prison to
Professional (P2P) program, a national organization that provides mentoring
and educational counseling to currently and formerly incarcerated people so
that they may position themselves to start building their career as opposed
to obtaining temporary employment.
He is also the author of the book entitled, “The Darkest Part of my
Blackness: Faith, Family, and Freedom.”
Mr. Tyree is a Ward 5 resident.
