17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Board of Dentistry Dr. Jonelle Anamelechi Confirmation
19 Resolution of 2024".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

Dr. Jonelle G. Anamelechi
Dr. Jonelle G. Anamelechi is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and
CEO of Children’s Choice Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics (DC
and MD).
Dr. Anamelechi attended St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for her
pediatric dental residency program. She opened Children’s Choice
Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics in New Carrollton, MD and
Washington, DC. She is attending faculty at Children’s National
Hospital in the Division of Oral Health, Medstar Georgetown Hospital
in the Department of Pediatric Medicine, and Guest Faculty at
Georgetown School of Law. Her national and international work has
focused on children with craniofacial abnormalities, tethered tissues and their link to poor oral
health, and health equity for children with special challenges.
Along with professional memberships locally, nationally, and internationally, Dr. Anamelechi
serves as the past president of the DC American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, State
Representative for the Maryland Health Smiles Program, Board Member of the Maryland Dental
Action Coalition and the DC Pediatric Oral Health Coalition, and Advisory Committee Member
for Diversity in Dentistry. She has been named a top doctor in Family Magazine for 4 years in a
row and featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Dentaltown, NBC, ABC, and CBS news.
A Ward 5 resident, Dr. Jonelle G. Anamelechi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural
Anthropology and Chemistry from Duke University, and her Master of Science in Public Health
and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina.
