Government Accountability Establishment and Comprehensive Ethics Reform Amendment Act of
2011, effective April 27, 2012 (D.C. Law 19-124; D.C. Official Code § 1-1162.03), I am pleased to

18 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
19 resolution may be cited as the "Board of Ethics and Government Accountability Darrin P. Sobin
20 Confirmation Resolution of 2024".
21 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

32 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,

Darrin P. Sobin
Mr. Darrin P. Sobin is Chief Programs Officer for the District of Columbia
Bar and a current member of the Board of Ethics and Government
Accountability (BEGA).
Mr. Sobin joined the DC Bar with extensive experience in legal ethics,
commercial and intellectual property law, international banking law, and
wrongful death litigation.
As the District’s first Director of Government Ethics, he managed the day-
to-day operations of the Office of Government Ethics, which, under the Board of Ethics and
Government Accountability, has oversight and enforcement authority over nearly 34,000 District
government employees.
Mr. Sobin also served as a counselor of government ethics and legal ethics in the office of the DC
Attorney General. He has clerked for Judge June L. Green of the US District Court, where he
worked on cases involving tobacco litigation, Securities and Exchange Commission actions, the
Clean Water Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Mr. Sobin also has experience conducting
preliminary reviews of attorney misconduct for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel for the District
of Columbia.
A Ward 2 resident, Mr. Sobin earned his Bachelor of Science from The George Washington
University and his Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke
School of Law.
