17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Board James Short
19 Confirmation Resolution of 2024".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

27 as a member of the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Board, established by D.C. Official Code§

30 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
31 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

James Short
James Short served as a certified public manager with the District of
Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department for 33 years.
Mr. Short is an assertive and creative leader with broad-based knowledge
and experience in management. Mr. Short works well with others in
gathering consensus and achieving goals. He has managed vending activities
for the Million Man March and is a licensed private investigator. Mr. Short
has also served over twelve years with the Fire Marshal’s Office, where he
supervised public assembly, went through training for arson investigation
with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and helped conduct inspections for
alcoholic beverage establishments and special events.
A Ward 7 resident, Mr. Short obtained his high school diploma at Eastern Senior High School here
in the District of Columbia and went on to attend the University of the District of Columbia and
George Washington University.
