                  IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

                                        May 7, 2024

To recognize and honor Tara Sakraida Parker for her unwavering commitment, selfless service,

       and countless contributions to the Georgetown community.

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker has served on the Board of Directors for the Citizens

Association of Georgetown (CAG), the nation’s longest-running civic association, since 2017;

        WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker served as President of the CAG Board from 2020 to

2024;

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker successfully stabilized and transformed the CAG

throughout the coronavirus pandemic;

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker implemented non-profit best practices and strategic

planning to ensure the long-term sustainability of the CAG;

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker secured a permanent home for the CAG through a

bequeathed gift;

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker created an inclusive environment for residents to

engage in civic action and connect with community;

        WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker tirelessly advocated on behalf of the CAG to improve

quality of life in and the historic preservation of the Georgetown neighborhood;

       WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker dedicated countless volunteer hours and professional

experience to the benefit of the CAG;

       WHEREAS, excellence, dedication, collaboration, and inclusion were the hallmarks of

Tara Sakraida Parker’s service;

       WHEREAS, neighbors, community partners, and elected officials have valued working

with Tara Sakraida Parker; and

        WHEREAS, Tara Sakraida Parker concludes her tenure as CAG President on May 7th,

2024.

        RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this

resolution may be cited as the “Tara Sakraida Parker Outstanding Service Recognition

Resolution of 2024”.

       Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors and celebrates Tara Sakraida

Parker for her 7 years of service on the Board of the Citizens Association of Georgetown and her

commitment to the residents, neighborhood, and community.

        Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
