A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

To recognize and honor Eugene Brown for his fifteen years of commitment and service to the
Georgetown community on the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) Clean
Team.
WHEREAS, Eugene Brown, the Cleaning Ambassador for the Georgetown BID, will
celebrate his 15th anniversary working with the BID in June 2024;
WHEREAS, the Clean Team Ambassadors work tirelessly 363 days a year to preserve
the beauty of Georgetown;
WHEREAS, the Clean Team Ambassadors protect the cleanliness of public spaces within
the BID’s boundaries, including through the removal of litter, trash, graffiti, and snow, sidewalk
power washing, weeding, tree pruning, and rodent abatement and control through regular
monitoring of the BID along with the District Department of Health and the District Department
of Public Works;
WHEREAS, the BID covers 35 blocks of the Georgetown commercial district, including
the commercial properties on M Street NW between Canal Road NW and Rock Creek Parkway
NW, all properties south of M Street NW to the Potomac River, all properties on Wisconsin
Avenue NW, and the commercial properties on the blocks that intersect with Wisconsin Avenue
NW, south of R Street NW; and
WHEREAS, Eugene Brown has been a diligent, committed, and reliable member of the
Clean Team and has steadfastly contributed to the Georgetown BID’s goal of keeping
Georgetown clean, safe, accessible, and economically strong in his role as the Clean Team’s
Cleaning Ambassador.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Eugene Brown Outstanding Service Recognition Resolution of
2024”.

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors and celebrates Eugene Brown for
the extraordinary impact he has had in the Georgetown community and the District of Columbia
through his hard work and dedication.
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
