A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
May 7, 2024
To recognize and honor Thorn Pozen for his contributions to the District of Columbia.
WHEREAS, Thorn Pozen has worked for and with the District government for over 30
years;
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen served as the D.C. Government’s Chief Ethics Counselor and
Chief FOIA Officer;
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen served as staff for a former Councilmember and for the D.C.
Financial Control Board;
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen has served the District of Columbia as an appointee to the
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority since 2015, where he serves as the Vice-Chairperson
of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Ethics Review Committee, Co-Chair of the Strategic
Development Committee, and on the Executive and Governance, and Environment, Social and
Governance Committees;
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen serves on several nonprofit boards of directors, including the D.C.
Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, the Council for Court Excellence, and as President of JCRC
of Greater Washington; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen is the former Chairman of the Steering Committee of the District
of Columbia Bar’s D.C. Affairs Section; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Pozen graduated from American University, Washington College of Law
and Connecticut College.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Thorn Pozen Recognition Resolution of 2024”.

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors the service of Thorn Pozen to the
District of Columbia.
Sec. 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
