                   IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

                                       February 6, 2024

To recognize and honor Peter Sacco for his public service as the Executive Director of Advisory

       Neighborhood Commissions 2A, 2B, 2D, and 2E.

     WHEREAS, Peter Sacco is the Executive Director of Advisory Neighborhood

Commissions (ANCs) 2A, 2B, 2D, and 2E;

       WHEREAS, Peter Sacco was the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC 2A08

from 2013-2015;

       WHEREAS, Peter Sacco has held his current position of Executive Director since 2016;

        WHEREAS, Peter Sacco approaches all of his work with inclusion, thoughtfulness, and

attention to detail;

        WHEREAS, dedication, professionalism, and partnership have been the defining qualities

of Peter Sacco’s service;

       WHEREAS, commissioners and residents alike have valued and enjoyed working with

Peter Sacco;

       WHEREAS, Peter Sacco successfully adapted and operated the ANCs under his care

through the coronavirus pandemic;

        WHEREAS, Peter Sacco enabled community input and participation in local government

with respect and care for all voices;

       WHEREAS, Peter Sacco supported the ANCs in seeking necessary renovations to almost

every park and recreation space across Ward 2;

       WHEREAS, Peter Sacco has tirelessly advocated for ANCs 2A, 2B, 2D, and 2E

throughout his tenure as Executive Director to improve the community and the District at large;

       WHEREAS, the ANCs will celebrate Peter Sacco as he concludes his tenure as Executive

Director during February 2024.

        RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this

resolution may be cited as the “Peter Sacco Recognition Resolution of 2024”.

       Sec. 2. The Council recognizes and honors Peter Sacco for his nearly 10 years of service

as Executive Director of ANCs 2A, 2B, 2D, and 2E and his contributions and commitment to the

residents, the neighborhood, and the District at large.

       Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
