To approve the transfer of jurisdiction over Lots 287 and 998 in Square 5865, part of Lots 981
and 982 in Square 5865, part of Parcel 240/6, part of Parcel 234/41, and part of
Reservation 421 from the United States to the District.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Transfer of Jurisdiction over Lots 287 and 998 in Square 5865,
Part of Lots 981 and 982 in Square 5865, Part of Parcel 240/6, Part of Parcel 234/41, and a
Portion of Reservation 421, S.O. 14-20429, Approval Resolution of 2024”.
Sec. 2. Pursuant to section 1 of An Act To authorize the transfer of jurisdiction over
public land in the District of Columbia, approved May 20, 1932 (47 Stat. 161; D.C. Official
Code § 10-111), the Council approves the transfer of jurisdiction:
(1) From the United States General Services Administration to the District of
Columbia over approximately 598,814 square feet of land inclusive of Lots 287 and 998 in
Square 5865, part of Lots 981 and 982 in Square 5865, part of Parcel 240/6, part of Parcel
234/41, and part of Reservation 421, as shown on plats 2 through 7 in S.O. 14-20429; and
(2) From the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, to
the District of Columbia over approximately 154,017 square feet of land being part of U.S.
Reservation 421, as shown on plats 8 through 18 in S.O. 14-20429.
Sec. 3. Transmittal.
The Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the Mayor, the
Surveyor of the District of Columbia, the District of Columbia Recorder of Deeds, the Executive
Director of the National Capital Planning Commission, the Speaker of the United States House
of Representatives, the President Pro Tempore of the United States Senate, and the Regional
Director of the National Capital Region of the National Park Service.
Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.
The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal
impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975,
approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).
Sec. 5. Effective date.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.
