                   IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

                                          June 6, 2023

To declare the existence of an emergency with respect to the need to approve Modification Nos.

       1 and 2, and proposed Modification No. 3 to Contract No. DCAM-21-AE-0005 between

       the Department of General Services and Perkins Eastman DC, PLLC to provide

       architectural and engineering services associated with the construction of the Ward 8

       Senior Wellness Center building, and to authorize payment for the services received and

       to be received under the contract.

        RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this

resolution may be cited as “Contract No. DCAM-21-AE-0005, Modification Nos. 1 and 2, and

proposed Modification No. 3 with Perkins Eastman DC, PLLC Approval and Payment

Authorization Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2023”.

        Sec. 2 (a) There exists an immediate need to approve Modification Nos. 1 and 2 and

proposed Modification No. 3 to Contract No. DCAM-21-AE-0005 with Perkins Eastman DC,

PLLC to provide architectural and engineering services associated with the construction of the

Ward 8 Senior Wellness Center building and to authorize payment for the services received and

to be received under the contract.

        (b) On January 06, 2022, Contract No. DCAM-21-AE-0005 was executed in the amount

of $906,122.68.

        (c) On September 01, 2022, via Modification No. 1, the Department of General Services

increased the value of the contract to $988,809.08.

        (d) Modification No. 2 was administrative in nature.

        (e) Proposed Modification No. 3 would increase the contract value to $1,154,028.82.

Council approval is necessary because the value of the contract exceeds $1 million in a 12-month

period.

        Sec. 3. The Council determines that the circumstances enumerated in section 2 constitute

emergency circumstances making it necessary that the Contract No. DCAM-21-AE-0005,

Modification Nos. 1 and 2, and proposed Modification No. 3 with Perkins Eastman DC, PLLC

Approval and Payment Authorization Emergency Act of 2023 be adopted after a single reading.

       Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
