17 To recognize, honor and congratulate the Paul Laurence Dunbar High School Crimson Tide for a
18 successfull season winning the 2019 District of Columbia State Interscholastic Athletic
19 Association, (DCIAA), City Class AA Turkey Bowl and for competing in the DCSAA
20 State Championship game;

22 WHEREAS, Dunbar High School is located in Ward 5 at 101 N Street, NW, and is
23 dedicated to ensuring that every student feels loved, challenged, and prepared to positively
24 influence society and thrive;

26 WHEREAS, Dunbar High School's Head Coach, Maurice Vaughn and Principal Nadine
27 Smith, Athletic Directors Jason Spinks and Assistant Athletic Director Tiffany Jackson and
28 Seneca Surles, Athletic Administrator Tonya Kabia, and Athletic Trainer, Patricia Billingslea-
29 Cox, have been successful in leading the team to the Turkey Bowl;

31 WHEREAS, Dunbar High School dedicated countless hours throughout the season to
32 practice in order to accomplish this goal;

34 WHEREAS, Dunbar High Schools 2019 championship team was led by its dedicated
35 coaching staff, including Head Coach Maurice Vaughn, Assistant Coach Marlon Richardson,
36 Greg Minott, Emanual Spivey, Stephon Marshall, Sam Reddick, Darren Nelson, Rahmal Adams,
37 Clement Wynn, Stephon Stevens, Eric Cox, Reginald Johnson, Gregory Bruwell, and Sekou

101 resolution may be cited as the Paul Laurence Dunbar Crimson Tide Recognition Resolution of

104 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and congratulates the Paul
105 Laurence Dunbar Crimson Tide Football team for a highly successful season.
