Substitute House Bill No. 5577 amends Special Act 24-13 to facilitate the conveyance of a parcel of land, approximately 3 acres in size, to the town of Somers. The Commissioner of Correction will retain an easement for a fire department staging area on the parcel, and the State Properties Review Board is required to complete its review of the conveyance within thirty days of receiving a proposed agreement from the Department of Administrative Services. The bill also clarifies that the land will remain under the care and control of the Commissioner of Correction until the conveyance is finalized.
