Substitute Senate Bill No. 1519, now Public Act No. 25-59, amends section 10-29a of the general statutes to designate various days, weeks, and months for specific observances in Connecticut. The bill introduces new proclamations by the Governor for annual observances, including February 8 as Scouting America Day, February 14 as Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day, and April as Connecticut Native Plant Month, among others. Additional designations include April 11 as Parkinson's Awareness Day, April 26 as Tuskegee Airmen Day, and May as Brain Tumor Awareness Month. The bill also establishes observances for Local Journalism Appreciation Day, Red Dress Day, Dystonia Awareness Day, and several others throughout the year, culminating in November being recognized as Veterans' Month and Epilepsy Awareness Month.

The bill emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and honoring various causes and contributions through these designated days and months. Each proclamation allows for suitable exercises to be held in the State Capitol and other locations as designated by the Governor. The new insertions (subdivisions 118 to 137) expand the existing framework for observances without any deletions from current law, thereby enhancing the state's recognition of diverse issues and communities. The act was approved on June 10, 2025.
