Senate Bill No. 1158, also known as Public Act No. 23-2, is a legislative act that designates various days, weeks, and months for special observances in the state. The bill amends subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the general statutes by adding new subdivisions (108) to (116), which include designations for Bone Health and Osteoporosis Month in May, Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week in the first week of May, Ann Petry Day on May 10th, Trinity College Day on May 16th, Bosnian Genocide Remembrance Day on July 11th, Free Enterprise Day on September 14th, Constitution Day on September 17th, PANS and PANDAS Awareness Day on October 9th, and Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month from November 20th to December 20th. The Governor is tasked with proclaiming these observances and may designate suitable exercises in the State Capitol and elsewhere.

Additionally, the bill includes insertions and deletions in the existing legal language. The insertion specifies that the Governor shall proclaim March as Peace Corps Month "of each year," emphasizing the annual nature of the observance. Deletions are made to remove the specific designations of "Maternal Mental Health Month" and "Maternal Mental Health Day," replacing them with new language that maintains the observance of these in May without the previous titles. The bill was approved on May 30, 2023, and is effective from the date of passage.
