This bill, Substitute House Bill No. 6241, makes changes to the law concerning farm winery permittees. It repeals and substitutes subsection (c) of section 30-16 of the general statutes. The bill specifies that a farm winery permit allows the holder to manufacture and sell wine and brandies distilled from grape products or other fruit products. The permit authorizes the sale of wine in bulk from the premises, as well as the sale and shipment of wine to retailers and consumers both within and outside the state. The bill also sets requirements for shipping labels, age verification, sales taxes, and reporting. Additionally, the bill allows farm winery permittees to sell wine at farmers' markets and at up to three additional retail outlets, subject to certain conditions. The annual fee for a farm winery permit is set at three hundred dollars.
