 AN ACT CONCERNING INDOOR AIR QUALITY IN SCHOOLS.
 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
 Assembly convened:
 1         That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require (1) the
 2      Department of Public Health to establish a routine indoor air quality
 3      monitoring program for use by local and regional boards of education
 4      that is consistent with Standard 62 and approved by a scientist with
 5      expertise in indoor air quality and an industry professional having
 6      knowledge of and experience with Standard 62, (2) each local and
 7      regional board of education to maintain an indoor temperature in its
 8      school gymnasiums of not lower than sixty-five degrees Fahrenheit and
 9      not higher than eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit while the gymnasiums
10      are in use by students, (3) each local and regional board of education to
11      implement such program, and (4) each local and regional board of
12      education to implement a system for receiving and addressing
13      complaints of poor indoor air quality in schools.
        Statement of Purpose:
         To require local and regional boards of education to maintain healthy
        indoor air quality in their schools.
