The act implements the recommendations of the department of regulatory agencies in its 2025 sunset review and report by:
Continuing the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act' for 7 years until 2033;
Repealing the advisory committee;
Updating definitions and terminology within the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act';
Specifying certain services and providers that are exempt from the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act'; and
Replacing gendered language with gender-neutral language.
