This bill proposes to amend current statutes by adding a new section, 15-160.05, to title 15, chapter 1, article 5 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. The new provisions require the State Board of Education (SBE) to develop a list of recommended resources for age-appropriate education on the prevention and recognition of inappropriate forms of contact, including sexual contact. Additionally, the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) is mandated to post this list on its website and ensure that at least one resource from the list is available to public schools for each age group, as determined in consultation with the SBE.

Furthermore, each public school will be required to provide resources from the SBE-developed list to all students and their parents. The bill also defines "age-appropriate" as resources that are suitable for children based on their cognitive, emotional, physical, and behavioral development typical for their age group. Overall, these updates aim to enhance school safety and education regarding inappropriate contact.
