This bill proposes to amend current statutes by adding a new section, 23-207, to title 23, chapter 2, article 1 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, which would require employers with fifteen or more employees to provide reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees. The accommodations may include modifications to equipment, additional breaks, assistance with manual labor, a private area for breastfeeding, flexible work schedules, and scheduling for prenatal health care visits. Employers would be prohibited from requiring employees to use their leave if a reasonable accommodation is available.

Additionally, the bill mandates that employers must post notice of this requirement conspicuously and include it in employee handbooks. Written notice must be provided to newly hired employees at the time of hire, to current employees within 180 days of the law's effective date, and to pregnant employees within ten days of being informed of their pregnancy. This act would be known as the "Pregnant Workers Protection Act."
