This bill proposes to update current statutes by continuing the operations of several state boards and the Department of Economic Security (DES) until specified termination dates, while also repealing certain existing statutes. Specifically, it will
continue the Arizona State Board of Nursing, the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners, the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants, and the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy until July 1, 2030, 2030, 2030, and 2032 respectively. Additionally,
the DES will be continued until July 1, 2030. The bill also includes provisions for the repeal of these boards and the DES on January 1, 2031, and January 1, 2033, respectively, as well as the repeal of certain sections of the Arizona Revised Statutes related to these entities.
Furthermore, the bill
repeals sections 41-3026.07, 41-3026.08, 41-3026.09, 41-3026.12, and 41-3026.21 and introduces new sections to title 41, chapter 27, article 2 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. It also includes
retroactive provisions effective from July 1, 2026, ensuring that the continuations of these boards and the DES are recognized from that date. The overall aim is to promote the safe and professional practice of nursing, occupational therapy, physician assistance, and pharmacy, as well as to provide essential social services through the DES.
