If this bill were to become law, it would update current statutes by inserting a new concurrent memorial urging the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historic Names (ASBGHN) to rename State Route 69. The proposed names for the six equal sections of the route would honor various military conflicts, specifically: World War I Veterans Memorial Highway, World War II Veterans Memorial Highway, Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway, Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Highway, Desert Storm Veterans Memorial Highway, and Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans Memorial Highway.

Additionally, the bill would direct the Secretary of State to transmit a copy of this memorial to the Chair of ASBGHN. The current law regarding the responsibilities of the ASBGHN, which includes evaluating proposals for naming geographic features and historical places, would remain unchanged. The bill does not anticipate any fiscal impact on the state General Fund.
