The proposed bill would amend the Arizona Procurement Code by introducing new disclosure requirements for companies responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and applying for grants. Specifically, it mandates that these companies disclose any valuable contributions made to the Governor or entities associated with the Governor, including campaign committees and organizations advocating for the Governor's election, within the past five years. This new language is inserted into the existing statutes as sections 41-2505 and 41-2707.
Additionally, the bill prohibits state agencies and employees from destroying notes taken during the evaluation of RFP responses. If such notes are destroyed, all related contracts agreed upon after the effective date of this amendment may be resolicited. The current statutes regarding procurement records retention will remain unchanged, but the new provisions will enhance transparency and accountability in the procurement process.
