The proposed bill would amend the Arizona Procurement Code by introducing new disclosure requirements for companies that hold state contracts or respond to requests for proposals (RFPs). Specifically, these companies would be required to disclose any gifts or contributions of value made to the Governor, entities associated with the Governor, or organizations advocating for the Governor's election or against an electoral opponent within the past five years. This new language would be inserted into the existing statutes as sections 41-2505 and 41-2707.

Additionally, the bill would prohibit state agencies and employees from destroying notes taken during the evaluation of RFP responses. If such notes are destroyed, all related contracts agreed upon after the effective date of the amendment could be resolicited. The current statutes regarding procurement records retention would remain unchanged, but the new provisions would enhance transparency and accountability in the procurement process.
