This bill proposes to amend existing statutes regarding unlawful camping near water sources. Currently, it is unlawful for a person to camp within
one-fourth mile one-fourth mile of a natural water hole or man-made watering facility, which could deny access to wildlife or domestic stock. The bill would change this distance to
three hundred yards and remove the stipulation that access must be denied to the only reasonably available water.
Additionally, the bill introduces new provisions that make it unlawful for a person to camp within
three hundred yards of a natural water hole or watering facility in a manner that could deny access to domestic stock. Violating this new regulation would result in a class 2 misdemeanor, as stated in
B. A person who violates this section is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor. Overall, the bill aims to update the current law to reflect a more specific distance and clarify the conditions under which camping is prohibited.
