The proposed bill would amend current statutes related to property inspections by the Department of Revenue (DOR) and county assessors. Under the new provisions, the DOR would be required to notify property owners of upcoming inspections and provide the date of the inspection, as well as supply a copy of the inspection report to the owner or possessor of the property. Similarly, county assessors would also need to notify property owners before conducting inspections and provide them with the inspection report afterward. These requirements are new insertions to the existing law.

Additionally, the bill establishes that properties classified as agricultural would not require an on-site inspection for three years following the last inspection, unless certain conditions arise, such as a change in use notice, property split, or change in ownership or lease. This provision aims to reduce unnecessary inspections for properties that maintain their agricultural status, thereby streamlining the inspection process. The amendments would replace some existing language while adding new requirements for notification and reporting.
