Furthermore, the minimum time required for individuals aged 16 to 18 to hold a valid instruction permit before applying for a class G or M driver license would be raised from 6 months to 9 months.

The bill also includes conforming changes to ensure consistency across the statutes and designates the act as the "Juveniles Unlocking Driver Education (JUDE) Act." These updates aim to streamline the process for young drivers to obtain their permits and licenses, thereby enhancing access to driver education and training.
