This bill proposes to amend Arizona Revised Statutes by adding a new section, 23-207, which mandates that employers with fifteen or more employees provide reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees, unless such accommodations would cause undue hardship to the business. The bill outlines specific accommodations that may include modifications to equipment, increased break periods, assistance with manual labor, a private area for breastfeeding, flexible work schedules, and scheduling for prenatal health care visits. Additionally, it prohibits employers from requiring employees to use their leave if a reasonable accommodation can be made.

Furthermore, the bill requires employers to conspicuously post information about the accommodation requirements and include it in employee handbooks. Employers must also provide written notice of these requirements to newly hired employees at the time of hire, to current employees within 180 days of the law's effective date, and to pregnant employees within ten days of being informed of their pregnancy. This act is designated as the "Pregnant Workers Protection Act."
