If enacted, this bill would update current statutes by appropriating $15,000,000 from the state General Fund for fiscal year 2025-2026 to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) specifically for a five percent increase to the outpatient behavioral health fee schedule. This new funding aims to enhance the financial support for outpatient behavioral health services provided through AHCCCS.
Additionally, the bill mandates that by November 15, 2025, AHCCCS must report to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee on how the rate increases are distributed among its contracted health plans. It also expresses the legislature's intent for AHCCCS to seek input from service providers to identify which specific procedural codes should benefit from the proposed fee increase. These provisions would be inserted into the existing statutes, while the current law remains unchanged.
