If enacted, this bill would update Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-3551 by modifying and expanding definitions related to the sexual exploitation of children. The bill introduces a new definition for "indistinguishable," which refers to a visual depiction that a viewer would reasonably conclude is of an actual minor. Additionally, the definition of "minor" would be broadened to include visual depictions that are indistinguishable from an actual minor. The definition of "visual depiction" would also be expanded to encompass images created or modified by computer software, artificial intelligence, or other digital editing tools.

The bill would also remove outdated definitions and renumber the remaining terms accordingly. Specifically, it would delete the current definitions for "Network," "Producing," "Remote computing service," "Sexual conduct," "Simulated," and update the definition of "Visual depiction" to include digital modifications. These changes aim to modernize the legal framework surrounding the sexual exploitation of minors, ensuring that it adequately addresses contemporary issues related to digital and indistinguishable representations.
