This bill proposes to amend current statutes by adding a new section to the Arizona Revised Statutes that mandates health care services organizations to provide full coverage for hearing aids and related services for enrollees under the age of eighteen, or under twenty-one if still attending high school. The bill also allows organizations to offer additional coverage options beyond the mandated services. Furthermore, it specifies that the coverage must include fitting and dispensing services, ear molds, and any related services provided by licensed health care providers.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that this coverage requirement does not apply to short-term travel, accident-only, or limited benefit coverage. It allows for deductibles and coinsurance to be applied to hearing aid coverage, consistent with other benefits. The definitions of "hearing aid" and "licensed health care provider" are also established within the new section. Importantly, the provisions of this bill will apply to evidences of coverage issued with an effective date on or after December 31, 2025.
